Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini court upheld on Wednesday (January 4, 2017) 3-month jail term against journalist Faisal Hayyat.
A court of first instance had sentenced Hayyat to 3 months in prison over "insulting a religious figure" over tweets deemed insulting to Yazid bin Moawiya.
The Bahraini authorities arrested Hayyat few days after writing an open letter to the Minister of Interior Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa related to being tortured in the Bahraini prisons after he was arrested in 2011.
