Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain laid today (Friday January 6, 2017) the cornerstone of King Hamad University for Nursing and Medical Sciences in Pakistan.
The Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported, "Deputized by His Majesty the King, National Guard Commander Lieutenant General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa took part, alongside Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, in a celebration held in Islamabad on the occasion of laying the cornerstone of King Hamad University for Nursing and Medical Sciences."
It added that representatives from King Hamad University in Bahrain also participated in the event.
Pakistan had recruited thousands of Pakistanis in its security forces and medical services, after the popular anti-regime uprising was launched in 2011.
The news about laying the university cornerstone comes at a time when Bahrain is suffering an economic and financial crisis, which led the government to lift support off basic commodities like oil and meats.
