Bahrain Mirror: Four human rights organizations condemned the death penalty against the detainees Abass Al-Samei, Sami Mushaima and Ali Al-Singace (accused of killing an Emirati officer during clashes with protestors in a village east of the capital, Manama, in March 2014).
Americans for Democracy and Human Rights in Bahrain (ADHRB), Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy (BIRD), Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR) and European Centre for Democracy and Human Rights called on the Bahraini authorities to release them all because the Bahraini authorities use torture to extract confessions.
The organizations called on to reinstate the citizenships of those who were stripped of their nationalities in this case, especially that the authorities did not guarantee them procedures of fair trial.
Executive Director of ADHRB, Husain Abdulla, stressed that all the evidence show that Bahrain will not change its long path in violating the judicial rights, deeming that the verdict issued against torture victims serves as a good example.
He added "there should be a strong international condemnation for these judicial practices, including US arms weapon ban to Bahrain until it proves its commitments to the recent reforms in the field of human rights."
For its part, human rights activist Sayed Ahmed Al-Wedaei considered that upholding the death sentences against the three citizens is a travesty of justice, demanding Bahrain's allies to condemn this blatant disregard for right to life.
