Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): In "Jaw", a novel written by political detainee Jihad, who is still behind bars in "Jaw Central Prison", the writer reveals that he met Martyr Abbass al-Samie after the March 10, 2015 events in "Jaw" Prison. Al-Samie confirmed to Jihad how he was beaten by members of al-Shihi family.
Bahraini authorities implemented a death sentence against Abbass and two others accused of killing Emirati officer Tariq al-Shihi (on March 3, 2014), during confrontations between forces and protesters in the town of Al-Daih, west of Manama.
Jihad, an alias to the actual writer, wrote in page 282 of his novel, "During that visit, I met my hero friend (Abbass Al-Samei), and on his face and body were traces of torture. He approached me to greet me despite mercenary threats, while he was in leg and handcuffs, with a chain attaching both sides. But I was surprised when I saw his teeth broken. I asked him about it, he said that after he was transferred from the building to the administration he was subjected to severe torture."
He also added in the novel, "His torture did not end after he was transferred to the death row solitary confinement in building #(1), where they admitted some members of the Al-Shihi Emirati family dressed in military uniforms. They beat him severely, while he told them "God knows I didn't kill anyone, and even the Bahraini authorities know that, but charges against me were fabricated."
"Despite his tragic situation, he stood tall, always smiling, defied and didn't heed the orders of the mercenaries and their yells. How wouldn't he be, and he was sentenced to death? While he addresses death saying "I don't care", as that young man said, "Aren't we on the right path? Then we fear not death, whether it came upon us or we drew ourselves towards it."
Al-Shihi's family had arrived in Bahrain yesterday night (Saturday January 14, 2017), and it is not clear whether they attended the execution of Al-Samei and the other executed political detainees, Samir Mushaima and Ali al-Singace.
