UAE Academic Arrested, Amnesty UAE Fears He’s Prisoner of Conscience

Bahrain Mirror: Circulating news indicated that the Emirati authorities arrested last Monday (January 16, 2017) Professor of Political Sciences in United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), Abdulkhaleq Abdullah.
On its part, Amnesty UAE confirmed on its twitter account that "Academic Abdulkhaleq Abdullah is detained". "We fear that he may be a prisoner of conscience", it added.

One day before his arrest, Abdullah had posted a tweet on his "Twitter" account saying, "I wish in the UAE we had tolerance, freedom of expression, freedom of press, freedom of assembly, and political freedom, as we have freedom of belief, freedom of trade, personal freedom, and social freedoms."
