Bahrain Mirror: Akhbar Al-Khaleej newspaper that has close ties with the Bahraini authorities said that the identities of the armed members who attacked Diraz yesterday are still unknown. It is to mention that a youth sustained a bullet in his head and was admitted to the hospital after forces attacked Diraz square.
The newspaper said that a Bahraini youth was admitted to hospital in a critical situation after "masked" people fired shots against him in Diraz, in the protest square, facing the Bahraini Shia spiritual leader Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim's house.
The Bahraini regime forces have been imposing a strict security siege on Diraz since June 2016, banning people from entering and leaving the village expect through checkpoints.
The newspaper's claims come despite the video footages that recorded the incident. The videos show heavy security presence in Diraz perimeter before the armed members raided the protest square and arrested number of citizens. The members were dressed in black and masked and were holding firearms. The marching forces raided Diraz after they parked their civilian cars at one of the village's entrances.
AFP said yesterday "Police in Bahrain carried out a dawn raid Thursday against supporters of a Shiite cleric on trial in the Sunni-ruled kingdom during which one man was shot and wounded, witnesses said. Security forces intervened in the village of Diraz, west of the capital, where protesters have been staging sit-ins since authorities revoked Sheikh Isa Qassim's citizenship in June. A 21-year-old man was hospitalized with a bullet wound to his head after the raid."
Akhbar Al-Khaleej reported from "Gulf Daily News": Mostafa Hamdan underwent a surgery to extract the bullet. He was immediately admitted to the surgery room because he was in a critical situation.
The newspaper said: Hamdan, from Karbabad, was injured at the early hours of Thursday. It was unclear who fired the bullet. However, the videos circulated on the Internet showed masked men firing bullets during clashes with masked youth, indicating that the incident took place at the early hours at Thursday dawn outside Sheikh Isa Qassim's house in Diraz.
