Detainees Convicted in Ma’amir Blast Case: They Set Fire to Tires to Kill Policemen

Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini court presided over by Judge Ibrahim Al-Zayed handed down 10-year jail term to 5 detainees and 7-year jail term to another one over acquiring explosives in Ma'amir.
The Public Prosecution accused the detainees that on June 16, 2016 they acquired explosives without a license from the Ministry of Interior, aiming at using them to disrupt public peace for a terrorist aim.
The prosecution accused the detainees of blasting explosives, setting fire, assembling, acquiring and manufacturing explosives and burning tires aiming at targeting and killing policemen and disrupting peace.
According to a local newspaper, the ages of the detainees range between 19 and 43 year old, among them a retiree.
