Bahrain Mirror: A local newspaper reported that a Bahraini court ruled today (Friday January 27, 2017) the innocence of two defendants accused of assaulting a security officer. The Public Prosecution had accused them of hitting a security officer with a grill, leading to his injury.
According to the Public Prosecution, the case dates back to when a security patrol affiliated with the Criminal Investigations Department was arresting a fugitive in the Barbar area. They saw the convict flee to one of the houses nearby, where the officers went there, where they were attacked by the people inside the house. The second defendant hurled a grill at the policeman, leading to his injury. The rest of the security men arrested both defendants after the first one hit the officer on his back, the Public Persecution reported.
The first defendant has denied the accusations attributed to him, and stressed he was at his father's house in Barbar area, and suddenly someone stands next to him. Before the first defendant knew anything, the second defendant had escaped, before coming back with the security men who arrested the first.
