Bahrain Mirror: The Fourth High Criminal Court ruled a 2-year prison verdict against 3 defendants, while it acquitted 2 others in a case linked to planting a fake bomb in the Bahraini town of Shahrakan.
In its ruling, the court said that the confessions of the second and third defendants were not supported by any evidence, especially that the officer's investigations did not reach to the certainty of the defendants' involvement in the incident.
Authorities claim that the defendants gathered in the areas of Shahrakan, at around 10:30 at night on March 26, 2015, burned tired, and planted a fake bomb at a roundabout in the area.
The authorities claim that they pursued the 3 defendants through alleged investigations, and by means of the defendants' confessions as well.
It's noteworthy that the Fourth Criminal Court was introduced in July 2013, to contain the huge number of cases brought against protesters and activists, and to accelerate the issuance of harsh sentences against them, under the pretext of the Law on Terrorism.
