Bahrain Mirror: The Second Lower Criminal Court decided on Tuesday (February 28, 2017) that next May 25, 2017, would be the day to issue verdict in the case of journalist Nazeeha Saeed, over charges of "working without a permit".

The Public Prosecution charged Saeed with performing her job as a journalist (Monte Carlo Radio station), despite the end of her permit.

Saeed's lawyer, Hamid Al Mulla attended on behalf of Saeed, who presented a plea, at the end of which he stressed the innocence of his client. He stressed that his client had acquired the required permit from the competent ministry, adding that documents prove that his client had requested the renewal of her permit, 1 day before her previous permit ended.

Moreover, lawyer Al Mulla said that it is proven that his client's permit terminates on March 31, 2016, for which he applied to renew a day before, noting that the competent ministry didn't issue any decision to reject the work permit renewals before Jun 16, 2016.
