Bahrain Mirror: Proceeding in the authorities' series in eliminating civil society institutions, the Al-Ayam newspaper, owned by the King's Media Advisor Nabil Al-Hamr, said that the Ministry of labor is to dissolve 3 civil societies for their "ineffectiveness".
The newspaper, however, did not publish the names of the societies to be dissolved within the coming days.
The Ministry of labor dissolved last year 11 civil societies, on top the largest Shiite religious society "Al-Tawiya", the Shiite "Al-Risala" society and others. Meanwhile, the authorities dissolved Bahrain's largest opposition societies, Al-Wefaq, based on a complained raised by the ministry of labor, revoked the citizenship of Shiite spiritual leader Sheikh Isa Qassim and referred him to trial.
These steps stirred criticism from the United Nations and Bahrain's key ally, United States. However, the authorities continued to tighten grip on the civil societies and Shia majority.
