Bahrain: PM Heads to Reduce Number of Ministries
2017-03-14 - 6:23 am
Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain Prime Minister, Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, expressed on Monday (March 13, 2017) an intention to head towards reducing the number of ministries and governmental bodies.
Khalifa bin Salman called for merging ministries, reducing the number of bodies and institutions, and merging them with already existing ministries. This comes in an attempt to limit the excess in the governmental apparatus as much as possible, and to guarantee efficiency and productivity.
This is not the first time the royal family attempts to reduce the number of ministries, as the king has called for a minor government in September 2015, before two ministerial positions were removed.
