Court Issues Death Penalty against 2 Defendants & Whole-Life Sentence against 5 Others over Sitra Blast

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Fourth High Criminal Court issued on Wednesday (March 29, 2017) death penalties against each of Mohammad Ibrahim Al-Touk and Mohammad Radhi Abdullah and revoked their citizenships. The court also issued whole-life sentences against Salah Saeed, Ibrahim Jaafar Hassan, Ali Abdulkarim Marzooq, Layth Khalil Al-Touk and Ali Ahmad Ali and revoked the citizenships of 4 of them. Meanwhile, Sayed Mortada Al-Sanadi and Kassim Abdullah Ali were stripped of their nationalities and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
The court also sentenced Al-Wefaq leader and former MP Sheikh Hassan Isa to 10 years in prison over the same case and sentenced others to periods ranging from 6 months to 10 years in prison.
The Fourth High Criminal Court convicted 24 defendants in the case of killing 2 policemen and attempting to murder other 6 and charge of funding terrorist group by Al-Wefaq member Sheikh Hassan Isa.
