Bahrain Mirror: The General Federation of Workers Trade Unions in Bahrain (GFWTUB) expressed concern over the continued deprivation of hundreds of Bahraini and non-Bahraini workers of their wages, noting that it has received many complaints from workers claiming that they have not been paid their wages for several months.
In a statement, the GFWTUB highlighted that it has contacted the Labour Ministry via a joint committee, adding that it was previously promised that these issues would be resolved in the near future. The federation is; however, witnessing an increase in the delay in paying wages.
The federation urged the Labour Ministry and competent government authorities to make more serious efforts in addressing the issue of delayed wages, which amount to millions of Bahraini dinars.
The GFWTUB further stressed that depriving hundreds of workers of their wages affects the family members of these workers, which means that thousands of people will be affected.
