Bahrain Mirror: Salam Organization for Democracy and Human Rights said that the authorities had revoked the citizenships of 410 Bahrainis, for political reasons, noting that among them 15 are Shiite religious clerics.

In a press statement, head of the religious freedom unit at the organization, Sayed Abbas Shubar, said that the regime is using the citizenship revocation as a tool to punish dissidents, among them Shiite religious clerics for demanding reforms.

He denounced the citizenship revocation of Shaikh Abdullah Al-Daqaq, stressing full solidarity with him.

Shubar concluded by saying that "the citizenship revocation had become a tool to punish Shiite citizens and political dissidents demanding reforms since November 6, 2012, when the series of citizenship revocation started with a list of 31 citizens." He also noted that among those whose citizenships are revoked were former MPs, journalists, activists, and clerics.
