Court Sentences “Sankimah” to 2 & Half Years in Prison over Insulting Former MP

Bahrain Mirror: The second minor criminal court presided over by judge Abdullah Ebel and secretariat of Sayed Hashem Al-Rifai sentenced actor Mansour Sankimah, known as "Sankimah" to two and half years in prison with 50 BD fine over insulting former MP on social media outlets. The court also set 1000 BD as a bail to stop the execution of sentence.
The court sentenced Sankimah in absentia to one year in prison over the first charge, 3 months over the second one, one year over the third and 3 months and 50 BD fine over the fourth charge. The court set 1000 BD as a bail to stop the execution of sentence.
Sankimah (44 years) said in the investigations that he was defending Bahrain, stressing the he owns the two accounts that circulated footages on social media outlets.
The Public Prosecution accused Sankimah of attributing facts to the victim that defame him and subject him to contempt, publically saying phrases mentioned in the minutes to the victim, deliberately annoying the victim by misusing the phone as well as publishing news and comments related to the victim's private life.
