Bahrain Mirror: Protesters completed their 290 days of open sit-in outside the house of the Shiite majority spiritual leader, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, in the Bahraini town of Diraz.
Activists published photos for thousands of protesters (Wednesday April 5, 2017) taking part in the sit-in, raising banners in support of Sheikh Qassim, against the regime, and demanding an end for the Al Khalifa monopoly of power.
Since June 20, 2016, thousands of Bahrainis protest outside the house of Ayatollah Sheikh Qassim in protest against revoking his citizenship, and trying him over practicing the Shiite religious Khums ritual.
Authorities arrested dozens of Shiite clerics and activists due to taking part in the Diraz protest. Regime forces also imposed a siege on the town of Diraz, whose population reached 30 thousand citizens.
