Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Minister of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning Issam Khalaf approved the recommendations of Southern Municipal Council, over imposing fees for entering the Khalifa Grand Park and using the central East Riffa Market Parking Lot.
According to the Minister, the proposal is approved by principle, and both recommendations were referred to the executive apparatus to adopt the necessary measures.
Bahrain has been suffering from an economic crisis due to the political crisis for over 6 years and the recent decline in oil prices; which represent 90% of the state budget.
Authorities adopted austerity measures, and lifted subsidies on many goods and services, most notably meat, electricity, water and petrol.
