Bahrain Mirror: Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense, and National Security rejected two proposals aiming at granting Bahraini citizenship to children of Bahraini mothers married to foreign fathers.
The parliament is set to discuss in its session on Tuesday (April 18, 2017) the two mentioned proposals; the first concerns amending some provisions of the Bahraini Citizenship Act - 1963, and the second amendment is for adding a new article to Bahraini Citizenship Act - 1963.
The committee rejected the two mentioned proposals saying that "granting the Bahraini citizenship is related to the state's sovereignty and this requires not granting it without regulations."
