Bahrain Mirror: An Emirati court sentenced on Wednesday (April 26, 2017) two Bahrainis, Abbas Ahmad Marzooq, 37 years, and Ali Hassan Al-Hinni, 37 years, to 3 years in prison and 500.000 Dirham (about 50.000 BD) fine over publishing footage on social media outlets.
Marzooq's family said that it received the issued sentence through the assigned lawyer via a phone call on Wednesday. The family added that the lawyer confirmed that he will challenge the verdict in a month.
The Emirati authorities accuse Marzooq and Al-Hinni of "committing an act that is considered a crime pursuant to the legislations for the electronic means" over publishing footage on social media outlets while being in Dubai.
