Bahrain Mirror: The president of Civil Service Bureau (CSB), Mr. Ahmed Al Zayed explained that any scholarships, training courses, and field visits presented by foreign embassies and missions in Bahrain to employees subject to civil service law, should be through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to Al Zayed, the Foreign Ministry will coordinate with the CSB to examine requests and make sure they comply with conditions in accordance with the civil service law.

Al Zayed noted that any information about scholarships, training courses, or field visits will be circulated by the CSB to competent governmental parties, depending on the nature of the programs.

He further noted that in case the application met the requirements in accordance with the civil service law, and with the development of governmental work, the Foreign Ministry would inform the CSB of the approval or disapproval of the application, and in return the CSB would examine the application again, before responding the Foreign Ministry.

The CSB president stressed the need for all government agencies to abide by the Council of Ministers' decision stating not to directly deal with foreign embassies or missions in Bahrain, but rather through the CSB. The CSB would coordinate with the Foreign Ministry in this regard. He also said that necessary measures, in addition to disciplinary penalties would be conducted against employees who do not abide by this law, and penalties might include termination of service, in accordance with the civil service law.
