Bahrain Mirror: The Third High Criminal Court decided to adjourn the appeals of Dr. Taha Al-Dirazi and Mullah Hani Ali Ahmad Basira until May 24 for pleading.
Dr. Al-Dirazi and Mullah Hani attended the session accompanied by their lawyer Kassim Al-Fardan who asked for time for pleading.
Bahrain's third minor criminal court ruled the imprisonment Al-Dirazi and Mullah Hani for 6 months, over participating in Diraz protest and set 100 BD bail for suspending the sentence.
Lawyer Yousif Rabie presented a plea in the previous session and demanded his clients' innocence.
Al-Dirazi and Mullah Hani face charge of taking part in an assembly of more than 5 persons on July 19, 2016.
Both Al-Dirazi and Mullah Hani denied the charges brought against them in their first session. Lawyer Al-Fardan accompanied them and demanded their release, especially that Al-Dirazi is a neurosurgeon, noting that this is rare speciality in Bahrain. Besides, Dr. Al-Dirazi was supposed to perform surgeries to number of patients, however, they were delayed due to his arrest.
The authorities claim that they received a notice stating that a group of people are assembling outside Sheikh Isa Qassim's house, where thousands of people have been protesting since June 20, 2016, when the authorities revoked Sheikh Qassim's citizenship.
