Gulf Air: Flight to Riyadh Diverted to Bahrain due to Severe Turbulence

Bahrain Mirror: Gulf Air said that one of its planes heading to Riyadh had to divert to Bahrain due to inclement weather conditions and severe turbulence.
It said in a statement on Wednesday (May 10, 2017) that "due to inclement weather conditions in Riyadh on Wednesday, its flight GF167, an Airbus A330 departing Bahrain International Airport at 15:45 Bahrain time to King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital city with 107 passengers and 11 crew, experienced severe turbulence on approach into King Khalid airport and was subsequently diverted to Bahrain, landing in Bahrain International Airport at 19:15."
Gulf Air explained that the aircraft resumed the flight once weather conditions had cleared in Riyadh, departing Bahrain at 20:37 and arriving at King Khalid airport at 22:01.
