Bahrain Mirror: The Sixth High Court of Appeals presided over by judge Ibrahim Al-Zayed and memberships of judges Dia'a Al-Huraidi and Salah Rizk and Yousif Bu Hardan as secretariat commuted the sentence of a defendant accused of putting a hoax bomb in form of "teddy bear" in A'ali to one year in prison and upheld the confiscation of seized items.
The authorities claim that the defendants, along with other unknowns, gathered on August 4, 2016 on Sheikh Zayed Street in A'ali at 1:00 PM, set fire to tires and put hoax bomb. The suspects then got a petroleum gallon, put the hoax bomb, blocked the street using 7 tires, poured petroleum on them and burnt them. Then, they put the hoax bomb and fled away. Investigations led to the 4 defendants.
The first instance court sentenced 4 defendants to 3 years in prison and ordered the confiscation of seized items. However, one of the defendants challenged the verdict, thus the court commuted his prison term to one year.
