3-Year Imprisonment against 3 Defendants for Beating 2 Suspected to be MoI Informants
2017-06-18 - 7:48 am
Bahrain Mirror: The First High Criminal Court ruled in a case linked to 4 defendants accused of hitting 2 young men, claiming they work as Ministry of Interior (MoI) informants.
Three of the defendants were sentenced to 3 years in prison (1st, 2nd, and 4th defendants), while the 3rd defendant was acquitted for insufficient evidence convicting him.
The Bahraini authorities claim that based on investigations, the defendants, along with others, kidnapped the plaintiffs by force, and hit them after they kept them in their custody. They attempted to extract information from them, which they might have referred to the MoI, as they were deemed as its informants, based on authorities' investigations findings.
