Father of Post-Grievance Honor’s Student, an Official in Quality Assurance Authority

Bahrain Mirror: It has been reported that the father of primary student, whose grades were changed to become the first on the honor's list, is the daughter of an official in the quality assurance authority, which monitors the work and performance of Ministry of Education, and its affiliated schools. Jordanian citizen, Abdul Hakim Ali Muhaidat, father of Shajan Ali Muhaidat, works in a position of senior national examinations specialist in the assessment center, which is part of the quality assurance authority.
The Ministry of Education had changed the results of the first place on the honor's list for the primary school level, around 1 week after it was adopted by the Minister of Education and announced in the press on June 5, 2017. Shajan was then placed in first place with a 99.83% average instead of Sajida Hussein Isa al-Abed, who scored a 99.82% average.

Shajan Muhaidat was not on the first honor's list for the primary levels of 2016-2017, which included 33 students.
The Ministry said that "After the grievances results were out, the student Shajan Abdul Hakim Ali Muhaidat, from East Riffa primary school for girls, was the one to come in first place on the honors list of primary schools for the 2016/2017 academic years, with a 99.83% score."
This has raised eyebrows because the ministry had instructed school administrations earlier this year not to open the door for grievance for the results of the primary levels.
All applications of students, who tried to apply for grievances after the results were out, were rejected.
Moreover, the Ministry said that "the Student Shajan Abdulhakim was named on top of the honor's list with an average of 99.83% following the correction of a typing mistake," the directorate said. It explained that the student's exam paper had not been re-corrected, but her 100 score in one the subjects was wrongly typed as 50.
The Public Relations and Media Directorate at the Ministry of Education pointed out that the mistake was corrected as soon as it was detected and that those who committed it were held responsible.
This, however, did not remove question marks in this regard, especially after the revelation of the nature of the job the student's father has, as a national examinations specialist at the quality assurance authority.
