Bahrain Mirror: Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Isa Khalaf, said that the number of construction permit requests received by the ministry during the past 5 years reached 69952 requests. These were divided into 257 requests under houses endangered of collapse, 544 request under the special service project, and 6736 request under investment projects in the Kingdom.

Housing permits requests represent the biggest number in the received applications, as 62415 housing permit requests were received by the capital secretariat and other municipalities, the Minister added.

During the past years, 55066 construction permits were issued, while 2611 were rejected for lacking documents, or for not meeting architectural compatibility or adopted organizational conditions within each area categorization.
