Parliament’s Financial Committee Agrees on Passing Budget Draft Law

Bahrain Mirror: The Committee on Financial and Economic Affairs in the Bahraini Parliament agreed to pass the general budget draft law for the fiscal years 2017 and 2018.
Committee member, MP Ahmad Qarata, said that the committee agreed to pass the budget draft law, clarifying that the committee will hold another meeting with the Minister of Finance on Sunday, before their recommendation to pass the law.
Moreover, he said that among the important issues agreed upon by the committee is the continuation of allowances for housing rents, disabilities and retirees, in accordance with previous standards. He also noted that the support to Gulf Air will be reduced from BD 50 million to BD 30 million for each year, adding that they will delay any aid from the Future Generation Reserve, according to al-Watan newspaper.
The Committee on Financial and Economic Affairs had convened on Saturday to continue its discussion on the budget draft law.
