Norway Calls on Bahrain to Immediately Release Nabeel Rajab, Drop Charges against Him

Bahrain Mirror-Exclusive: The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged Bahrain to immediately release Nabeel Rajab.
State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tone Skogen said in a statement published on the Norwegian Ministry's website that Bahrain has to drop all the charges against Rajab, adding that "Norway has repeatedly expressed concern about Rajab's situation and has urged the Bahraini authorities to fulfil their international human rights obligations."
Skogen indicated that "The sentence against Nabeel Rajab shows how difficult the situation is for human rights defenders in Bahrain," adding "We are particularly concerned about the increasing restrictions on fundamental human rights such as freedom of speech and freedom of assembly."
