Bahrain Mirror: Bahraini Ambassador to the United Kingdom Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and Deputy Head of the Mission Hussain Mohammed Alam attended the annual conference of the ruling British Conservative Party which convened in Manchester, between 1 and 4 October.
The party hosted a reception ceremony for the Heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the UK in which British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson gave a speech. The Council of Arab Ambassadors also held a reception ceremony in honour of British Minister of State for Middle East Affairs Alistair Burt.
During his attendance of the conference, Fawaz held meetings with British ministers and officials as well as journalists, members of the party at the House of Commons and House of Lords and friends of Bahrain from the party. They discussed bilateral relations and ways of boosting historic partnership between both countries in various fields.
It is to mention that the British Conservative Party is one of the most prominent supporters for Bahrain's repressive policies towards its citizens, which prompted continuous criticism from human rights organizations to the UK that is accused of involving with the Bahraini authorities in oppressing protestors and individuals seeking democracy transition.
