Bahrain Mirror: The High Administrative Court in Bahrain rejected a lawsuit filed by two lawyers, demanding that the decision made by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry appointing the new chief executive officer of the Chamber be annulled, on the grounds that there is interest in filing this case.
The plaintiffs stated that the first defendant- the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry- agreed with the new CEO to take office, yet many members of the Chamber, including the plaintiffs, were not pleased by the decision made by the Board of Directors to appoint the Chief Executive Officer, since it violates the provisions of the law and depletes the Chamber's funds, adding that this led them to initiate take legal action.
In its ruling, the Court stated that it is established that interest is a prerequisite for the acceptance or refusal of a lawsuit, noting that where there was no interest, there is no lawsuit.
