Court Upholds Imprisoning “Drunk” Citizen for Attacking 2 Policemen

Bahrain Mirror: The First Appeals Criminal Court rejected the appeal of a 33-year-old man convicted of attacking two policemen, damaging their military suit, after catching him drunk and quarreling with others. The court upheld imprisoning him to one year in prison with the execution of the sentence after the first-instance court dealt with him in pity.
The prosecution accused the suspect of attacking on October 24, 2017 the bodily integrity of public peace officers for performing their jobs and causing the first the injuries mentioned in the report. It also accused him of insulting the officers and deliberately damaging the military suit of one of the victims. The suspect was also accused of being caught drunk in a public place.
