Appeals Court Hands down 5-Year Jail Term to Suspect over Planting Fake Bomb in Al-Ekr

Bahrain Mirror: The Sixth High Criminal Appeals Court upheld a verdict issued against a Bahraini electrical technician who used his experience to manufacture a fake bomb which he planted in Al-Ekr. The first-instance court had sentenced him to 5 years in prison and ordered the confiscation of seized items.
The authorities claim that they reached the suspect through "fingerprints matching". The suspect admitted in the investigation that he manufactured a fake bomb, making use of his work as an electrical technician. He also confessed that he put the bomb near a cement barrier in Al-Ekr and fled away.
