NHRA Probes Death of Man who Underwent Gastric Sleeve Surgery

Bahrain Mirror: The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) started investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Ali Al-Jadid, from Bilad Al-Qadeem, who had undergone a gastric sleeve surgery in Al-Salmaniya Medical Complex last May.
NHRA started its procedures by calling the family of the deceased to listen to their testimonies and called them to submit an official lawsuit as an introduction to finish the file and start the needed legal measures. The authority also contacted competent people in Al-Salmaniya and asked for the file of the deceased man.
Chief Executive Officer of the NHRA Mariam Al-Jalahma explained that the authority started its measures in investigating the claims of a Bahraini family that said that their son died due to medical error, indicating that they requested the deceased's file from Al-Salmaniya to determine the causes of death and clarify if he died as a result of medical error or not.
It is to mention that the death of a Bahraini man after undergoing gastric sleeve surgery in Al-Salmaniya last May caused a stir on social media. According to his family, the deceased went in coma due to surgery complications, his health deteriorated, was poisoned as a result of gastric perforation and died on Tuesday (October 24, 2017) morning.
