Maria Khouri Elected Head of NIHR

Bahrain Mirror: The commissioners at the Bahrain National Institute for Human Rights (NIHR) elected Maria Khouri in the position of the institute's president, as a successor for Saeed Al-Faihani, who was appointed an ambassador at the Bahrain Foreign Ministry.
On Sunday, November 5, 2017, the board of commissioners convened, presided over by NIHR deputy president Abdullah al-Dirazi, and elected Mariam Khouri as present by acclamation of votes.
Khouri was a member of the NIHR board of commissioners by means of a royal decree issued in 2013. She was head of the complaint and follow-up committee, and later the economic, social and cultural rights committee.
During the meeting, Khalifa bin Ali al-Fadel remained in his position at General Secretary of the NIHR for 4 renewable years, based on the statement issued by the institute.
