Bahrain Mirror: The High Court of Appeal rejected an appeal of a defendant sentenced to prison in February 14 Coalition Case for not attending the appeal hearing.
The Fourth High Criminal Court had issued its rulings in the "February 14 Coalition" case, involving 50 people including one woman, sentencing the first 16 defendants to 15 years imprisonment, four other to 10 years, and the remaining 30 to 5 years in prison.
The defendants challenged the verdict so the Appeal Court accepted the appeals of the defendants in form but rejected them in substance, upholding the ruling but commuting the prison sentence of the appellant and three others to 3 years.
