NAO: Transportation Ministry Rented Office, Parking Lots Worth 360,000 BD without Presenting them to Tenders Board

Bahrain Mirror: The National Audit Office report for the years 2016-2017 said the Bahraini Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication recorded a 55% decrease in the percentage of expenditure which equals to 370,804 out of the actual budget that amounts to 60,748,789.
It was also noted that the ministry did not commit to the signing of a number of contracts between exporters in a maximum period of 30 days as of the announcement of the tender, which is considered a violation of the law of tenders. Examples of such are contracts for supplying, installing and operating air navigation devices worth 1,128,749 million BD in 2015 and 1,386,854 in 2016 for the same contract, in addition to offices and parking lots lease contract for the ministry worth 360,000 BD for 2016.
