Bahrain Mirror: The First High Criminal Court of Appeal in Bahrain did not accept the appeal of one of four defendants, accused of assembling, blocking a highway using Molotov cocktails and damaging a citizen's vehicle as he attempted to open the road. The defendant was sentenced to two years in prison, while the others to five years, who were all jointly fined 80 dinars to compensate for the damages done to the victim's car. The court justified its rejection by stating that his appeal was about two years late after the legal deadline, which was challenging a verdict issued by a first instance court on March 5, 2014.

The Public Prosecution claimed that on April 27, 2013, the defendants:

First: Deliberately, along with unknown others, destroyed part of the structure of the victim's vehicle and the crime was committed by a gang of at least five persons for terrorist purposes.

Second: Took part, along with unknown others, in an assembly held in a public place of more than five persons, whose purpose was to disturb public order by using violence to achieve the purpose for which they gathered.

Third: Acquired and had possession of inflammable bottles (Molotov cocktails) for the purpose of using them in endangering people's lives and properties.
