Ayatollah Isa Qassim Undergoes Surgery this Morning at Ibn Al-Nafees Hospital

Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): The spiritual leader of the Shiite majority in Bahrain, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, underwent surgery Friday morning (February 2, 2018) at Ibn Al-Nafees hospital, a medical source said.
The source said that Qassim was transferred to the intensive care unit after the operation, without giving further information.
Al-Wefaq said in a statement on Wednesday (January 31, 2018) that Ayatollah Qassim was admitted to the hospital for an urgent operation.
About two months ago, Qassim underwent surgery after his health condition deteriorated. He has been under house arrest since May 2017, while Diraz has been under siege since June 2016.
