Court Upholds 7-Year Jail Term, Citizenship Revocation against Defendant over Joining 14 Feb. Coalition, Al-Wafa Party

Bahrain Mirror: The First High Appeals Criminal Court rejected the objection of a 22-year-old youth sentenced to 7 years in prison and revoked of his citizenship, for not attending his objection session. The suspect was convicted along with another one- who has been already sentenced- of joining 14 February Coalition and Al-Wafa Islamic Party, as well as collecting money for the two parties.
The first-instance court had issued 10-year jail term and 100 thousand BD fine against the first suspect over the charges against him. Meanwhile, it acquitted the third suspect (17 years- fugitive) of the charges brought against him. The suspect had already appealed the verdict, however, a court upheld the sentence against him.
