Court Upholds Removing Former Chamber of Commerce and Industry CEO Nabeel Al-Mahmood from Post

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's High Administrative Court rejected a lawsuit filed by the former CEO of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nabeel Al-Mahmood in, which he demanded abolishing the decision to remove him from his post.
The court said that the decision was issued pursuant to article 46 of decree 48/2012 regarding Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It added that the decision, even if deemed arbitrary, is not subjected to judicial review, except when a compensation request is filed, if found.
In its ruling, the Court said that the provisions of the law dedicated to the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry stipulate that the Chamber's board of directors is specialized in practicing all the necessary powers to achieve the Chamber's goals and manage its work, adding that the board can appoint the CEO and his deputies and remove them from their posts as well, pursuant to the executive regulations.
