Bahrain Mirror: The High Criminal Court in Bahrain sentenced on Wednesday (February 21, 2018) prominent human rights activist and Bahrain Center for Human Rights President, Nabeel Rajab, to five years in prison over tweets criticising prison torture in his country and misconduct in Saudi Arabia's war in Yemen.
Nabeel Rajab is already serving a two-year sentence handed down in July over television interviews he gave to foreign media outlets that included criticism of human rights violations and rights situation in Bahrain.
The new sentence will be added to the previous one, so the total prison term will amount to seven years, which will be counted since his arrest on June 16, 2016.
