Appeals: 15-Year Jail Term Handed down to Defendant Accused of Planting Bomb in Karana

Bahrain Mirror: The First High Criminal Appeals Court upheld a 15-year jail term against defendant accused of taking part in planting a bomb in security patrol location in Karana. The court also upheld binding the defendant to pay 1178.550 BD for the damages.
The first-instance court had issued life sentence against a suspect, 15-year jail term against 3 defendants and 3-year jail term against 2 defendants under 18, bound the defendants to pay 1178.550 BD for the damages caused to the security patrol and ordered the confiscation of seized items.
The authorities claim that an explosion occurred on March 19, 2015 in Karana near a mall and that 3 policemen were injured and a security patrol was damaged as a result.
