Bahrain Mirror: A Pakistani newspaper said that 7210 Pakistanis got employed in Bahrain in 2017, according to official numbers issued by government body in Islamabad.
This came amid aggravation of unemployment among Bahrainis, and increase of unemployed to 8500 registered in Ministry of Labor until end of 2016. An economic expert told Al-Jazeera channel on the onset of February that the unemployment in Bahrain exceeded 15%. Meanwhile, official numbers show that this percentage didn't exceed 4.2% until 2016.
The Pakistani newspaper complained about decline in Pakistani workers export to other Arab countries like Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain and deemed the numbers disappointing in 2017.
In 2016, a total of 462,598 Pakistanis got employments in the kingdom. This figure saw a major decline in 2017 when only 143,368 got employment in Saudi Arabia.
