Bahrain Mirror: The Islamic Tribune Society (Muslim Brotherhood) amended its statute to emphasize that it is not associated with non-Bahraini entities. The Society is accused of joining the international Muslim Brotherhood organization.
The Bahraini Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa issued a decree on the approval of the request to amend the statute of the National Islamic Tribune Society (Al-Menbar) adopted at its General Conference held in March 2017.
Article 4 of the amended Statute stipulates that the Society shall abide by the provisions of the National Action Charter and Constitution of Bahrain as well as respect the rule of law, as the Society shall not be affiliated neither organizationally nor financially with any non-Bahraini entity, or direct the activities of the Society on the orders or directives of any foreign country or party.
The Society is deemed close to Bahrain's ruling regime despite Manama's move severing ties with Qatar under the pretext that it supports the international Muslim Brotherhood organization. Members of the Society hold senior positions in the Government and security agencies.
Member of the Society Fatima Al-Baluchi assumed the post of Minister of Social Development and Minister of Health, and the Tribune Society official Salah Ali took on the position of Minister of Human Rights.
