Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that there is no constitutional obscurity in the extradition agreement between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation, adding that it also does not conflict with Bahrain's obligations in the Arab and international spheres. The agreement stipulates that if a final sentence is issued by a judge with a reduced penalty other than the death penalty, then Bahrain has the right to request the extradition of the defendant, as this ruling would be the guarantee that will be provided to Russia.

It said in its draft law proposed before the House of Representatives in its next meeting that this agreement will be applied to the citizens of the two countries and that the decision will be in the hands of the state that has jurisdiction in the case, which is entitled not to extradite the accused since it has the final decision. It further stated that the agreement has a more political nature, and is governed by the bilateral agreement. "There is no doubt that the matters of interest to both countries are implemented without harming the interests and sovereignty of the Kingdom of Bahrain."

For its part, the Ministry of Justice stressed that the guarantees in the agreements are that they do not affect the sovereignty of the state and do not harm any citizen, or violate the internal regulations of the state.
