Public Prosecution: Tweeter Suspended over Charge of Insulting Others

Bahrain Mirror: Muharraq Chief Prosecutor Hussain Khamis said the Public Prosecution had launched an investigation into the misuse of social media networks by a suspect who posted defamatory tweets on social microblog Twitter.
The Cyber Crimes Directorate carried out the needed investigation to identify the account's owner and an arrest warrant was issued by the Public Prosecution. The suspect was questioned by the Public Prosecution and admitted the charges levelled against him.
The Public Prosecution ordered to remand him in custody for seven days pending further investigations in preparation for his referral to the specialized court.
