Bahrain Mirror: The High Committee for Natural Resources and Economic Security in Bahrain announced the discovery of the largest oilfield in the Kingdom.
The committee announced the discovery of a new tight oil and deep gas resource.
The work of Bahrain's Higher Committee for Natural Resources and Economic Security, chaired by Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, led to discovering the largest oilfield in the history of the Kingdom.
This is considered the first of its kind discovery since 1932, when extraction started on Bahrain's first oil well within the Bahrain Oil Field.
The committee has started putting detailed plans to double mining exploration and prospecting processes. The National Oil and Gas Authority and national oil companies were directed to work on improving the level of geological survey.
The Crown Prince gave directives to NOGA to determine the feasibility of extractable quantities from this new field and to develop plans for its development over time, taking into account the geological nature of the site.
