Bahrain Says Found 80 Billion Barrels of Oil in New Field

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Oil Minister Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said the amount of tight (light crude) oil discovered recently in the new oil field could exceed 80 billion barrels. This puts Bahrain among the top ten countries in oil reserves.
The Minister said in a press conference that the geological surveys resulted in another discovery of up to 20 trillion cubic feet of gas offshore in the deep layers of the Bahrain field.
Agreement has been reached with Halliburton to commence drilling on two further appraisal wells," Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Oil Minister, said.
"Bahrain is currently evaluating two bids from the Halliburton and Schlumberger companies for the extraction and production of the natural gas reserves from these layers," the minister noted .
