Commerce Minister Says Manama Market Development Will Take Up to 36 Months

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Zayed bin Rashid Al-Zayani predicted that the development of the Manama market would take 18 to 36 months.
He said in a press statement that the general conception of the development project of the Manama market has been completed and the operational phase has kicked off. The bidding is expected to be launched within three months, he noted.
Al-Zayani added that the main area that will be worked on first is the Bab Al-Bahrain entrance. The development extends on both sides and inside. The development area amounts to approximately 800 square meter.
He pointed out that the project will be executed in one stage and will be proposed on several bids, adding that the market has been divided into several sectors and each sector will include different works. There are the gold market, spices market, cloth market and blacksmith market, and each market will have a different special style. The project is expected to be concluded within 18 to 36 months.
